Was pretty reluctant to stab the very carefully decorated dessert

(No, I am lying actually, was dying to gobble it up..)

ANd I did!

It was sickening sweet to my disappointment.

Reminds me of the proverb, "never judge a book by its cover"

Never judge a dessert by its appearance I would say.

Congrats to Carol who got the monbusho scholarship!

A prestigious scholarship given by the Japanese Ministry of Education to smart asses .. Ahem I mean elites! Leaders of the future!

But just a correction, she won't be another visitor to me, cus she will be here for 18 months!

Counting the Visitors

The first day I arrived in Tokyo 4 months back, I was just plain miserable. I was home sick, I was unsettled. The symptoms worsen as the days pass by and all I could think of is when I can meet people I know soon and how to survive the 8 months till a friend ( you know who you are, hee hee) will come and be my house-mate.

Then now I look back, I am amazed at the numerous, unexpected number of visitors.

March: Candy, my very first visitor in Tokyo

April: Yilin, the very first visitor to my house

May: Bill, Ike and his friend who came over to my house, Mengwei and gf, 野瀬 sensei and of course, not to forget Shin, the first visitor to stay over night

June: My long lost Primary School classmate (whom I have not met for 13 years)Ruifen and Sister whom stayed over night too.

July: Esther, who is currently still in my house cooking dinner and waiting for me to go home every night! Btw, she has found a job in Tokyo and an apt 3 mins walk away from me!

To expect:
August: My cousin Eong Sian and his wife Areena
September: Liza who might be coming on a work trip

I want a new bed...

I need to get a bed soon... I am getting tired of sleeping on the floor...

and I want new bedsheets too! Saw this!
